Strategic and Business Planning
Too often we see strategic and business plans developed because we must be seen to be preparing them.
We have all fallen victim to this, or worse, we have attempted to implement them and not kept our eyes on the successful execution of these plans. Good intentions but failed impact.
At ENOSIS we address this problem by engaging the whole organisation in the planning process and the execution of the plans. With strategic plans less is best; the plan should focus on the important things the organisation needs to do to achieve lasting success and continuous evolution. Unless there is an acceptance of organisational continuous evolution there will be revolution, and that may be taken out of your hands!
The execution of plans should be paramount in the planning process. That should be top of mind at the start of the process and not thought of at the end, of what could be exhausting planning activities, where energy levels are at their lowest. Too often we have been caught without a way of monitoring and measuring progress and success.
We go through a thorough planning process by applying the following approaches
- Utilising the 7 “S” framework to organisational analysis.
- Applying the 90 Days approach to transitioning to the new organisation vision and plans.
- Identifying the STARS:
- Start-up – To get new business, product, services or relationships off the ground
- Turnaround – To address areas in trouble and back on track
- Accelerate – Putting in place structures and systems to expand the business
- Realignment – To realign the area that has drifted from its business or focus
- Sustain – Preserving the vitality of a successful area and taking it to the next level
- Managing stakeholder relations and focusing the organisation on the key relationships.
- Establishing Key Performance Indicators and realistic timelines.
